Boarding Regulations

The purpose of the boarding is that while we provide care and shelter for the boarders, we also hope that boarders will develop especially in the areas of :

  1. faith formation and human values
  2. creative thinking and reasoning
  3. wholesome self-image and leadership skills
  4. dedicated service.

To bring about this atmosphere of growth, parents are requested to abide by the following rules. If these rules are not followed the child will be asked to leave the boarding.

  1. Parents/Guardians may visit their children/wards only during specified times and may not bring or send food or extra clothing.
  2. Only parents/guardians should come to collect boarders for holidays. In case of an emergency, a letter of authority must be given to the person authorized to collect the girl.
  3. No messages are to be received or sent out except through the mistress-in-charge whose signature should appear on the note when delivered to the child.
  4. Cell phones/Mobiles or other electronic gadgets are not to be brought to the school or hostel.
  5. Parents should ensure that their wards do not bring the following items to school :
    1. Cosmetics
    2. Jewellery
    3. Fancy and expensive items

    The school is not responsible for the loss of goods.
  6. Pocket money should be given sparingly. It should be given to the Mistress in-charge.
  7. Parents should read notices before they collect their children.
  8. Boarders returning to school should report to the Mistress-in-charge between 4.30 – 5.30 p.m. on the day specified. Prior permission must be obtained to return earlier or later.
  9. Boarders may not go home except during monthly breaks and vacation periods specified in the diary.
  10. Boarders may go only to the homes of their parents/legal guardians.
  11. No visitors may meet a child without writing a parlour slip which will be signed by the Mistress-in-charge.
  12. Tuck must be kept in the refectory and shared by all at the child's table. No food may kept in classroom desks, toilet boxes or dormitories.
  13. When a boarder is required to go home out of time due to illness / or for any other reason, Parents/Guardians will be informed by the sister in-charge.
  14. The bill book must be presented at the time of returning to the school after each monthly and vacation break. Fees must be paid on time if the child is to continue in the hostel.
